Last May I was in Santorini with three of my best friends walking on cloud nine at the beautiful sights around me. I thought to myself, “what a dream it would be to shoot a wedding here.” That’s when I received an email to my inbox saying, “How would you feel about shooting a wedding in Santorini next year?” I just about stopped breathing and couldn’t believe what I was reading!
A year and a few months later, here I am again in one of my favorite places on earth. Greece has a special magic about it; there’s something in the air that just makes you feel completely free. My few days under the Santorini sun with Gabriela and Andres were nothing short of perfect – filled with endless sun, dancing, laughter, (and some good wine of course!).
The backdrop was beautiful, but it was truly the people that made their day so special. Here are some images that I feel best capture the story. Hope you enjoy 🙂
I met Laura about 6 months ago in Miami at a bridal shop she was managing at the time, and it was one of those moments we instantly knew we’d be friends! Laura and I had always talked about how much we love cozy and intimate couples photos, and we made a plan to photograph her and her boyfriend Josh back in NYC when I got the chance to visit. So when I was in the city last month, I went over to Josh and Laura’s apartment in Astoria and just hung out and had fun snapping these photos!
Shooting friends is extra special, and I’m so glad I got to capture these sweet memories for them! Thanks Laura and Josh for being my models for my first more intimate couples session, and I can’t wait to shoot more images like these 🙂
These two reached out to me just a few weeks before their Florida Keys wedding letting me know that their photographer had unfortunately canceled on them last minute and they were so happy when they found me. I happened to be available and we knew right away it all happened for a reason! Islamorada is my favorite place in the Florida Keys and I had never shot an Islamorada wedding – I couldn’t contain my excitement being surrounded by palms and turquoise water all day. Here are a few of my favorites from their day:
With this month’s styled shoot we were going for anything but traditional. Cue the grey wedding dress, leather jacket, luxury shades, and a motorcycle! I asked my good friends Mario and Chiara if they would model for this shoot because I knew how effortless it would be to capture their chemistry on camera.
This couple is known for showing up to parties on the back of a Ducati sporting their full-frame carbon fiber sunglasses by their very own brand, Dirocco Eyewear located in the Wynwood Art District of Miami, FL.
The whimsical “Raincloud” dress by Leanne Marshall was the perfect addition to the shoot and features a soft grey with hand-painted water coloring. We partnered with Lovely Bride that recently opened a new storefront in Miami and carries many unique designers for the modern bride.
We knew this dress had to be paired with a fine suit, so we partnered with another local Wynwood designer for this fully custom suit by Tatano. You can get one of his custom suits in his very own collaborative space that recently opened in Miami called Brothers & Brawlers, where Dirocco Eyewear also lives.
And for the florals, we wanted to have soft colors that wouldn’t take away from the dress but would add to its elegance but still be earthy with lots of foliage. Local Miami florist Primrose Florals put this bouquet together that added the perfect touch.
Would you rock a grey dress or a leather jacket? Let me know in the comments or on social media!
