When I first met these two for drinks at their wedding venue, I had no idea we’d instantly hit it off. After an aperol spritz or two and over an hour, we finally got to talking about the wedding but for the first hour we talked about life — the real stuff.
I had no idea that we’d connect on so many levels through past relationships, the groom and I both having fathers that are blind, our obsession with dogs, coffee, and interior design, the list goes on 🙂
When they told me about their home renovation that they did almost entirely themselves, I knew it was where we had to do their couples session. You would never know from the outside what awaited inside and then you open the door and it’s a white and bright beachy dream!
But when I got to their place, I saw a sailboat on the canal outside of the window and asked if they happened to know the owner so we could ask to shoot some photos on the boat. They said no but it didn’t hurt to ask anyway! So we knocked on the door and unfortunately the boat was not the home owners, but he was nice enough to let us shoot photos on his dock with the boat in the background which ended up being some of my favorite. And then we drove down the street to a marina and explored a bit more!
We came back and spend the rest of the time shooting cozy and intimate photos around their house. It was seriously the perfect space to shoot in and I’m so happy we got to capture these memories in their own home.
