When Leah & Jason reached out to me about her Tulum wedding, neither of us ever would have thought that Covid would have a different plan. After many changes of plans, the day finally arrived in November and we had the most perfect day that we could have asked for! The weather was slightly rainy and overcast which actually made it cool all day, which is rare for Riviera Maya. Leah got ready at Mahayana Tulum which is are a group of laid-back condos right on the beach. The house the girls got ready in was absolutely beautiful and had an awesome balcony for photos overlooking the plunge pool and the ocean.
Jason got ready at Selina, a boutique hotel right on the property of Mia Beach Club in Tulum’s hotel zone where they would have their ceremony and reception. Selina was a great place for the guys to get ready as it had plenty of cool spots around the property to take pictures and the rooms themselves were modern and artistic. It also had a beautiful pool by the beach when was one of my favorite areas for shooting bridal party photos.
The ceremony took place on the beach at Mia Beach Club and it was so beautiful getting to be in the sand with the ocean as the ceremony backdrop! They had agua fresca set up as a welcome drink. The ceremony was so intimate and beautiful and afterward they got to cheers with fresh margaritas and keep hanging out with all their closest friends and family as drinks were passed around.
The dinner and reception took place inside of Mia’s restaurant and it was quite literally the most DELICIOUS wedding meal I’ve ever had — I highly recommend Mia Beach Club as a venue if you’re wanting an authentic experience with Mexican food! They had long family-style tables that were decorated beautifully but the interior of Mia alone is already beautiful as it is!
